The recession may have hit the housing industry resulting to very low median home sales prices. However there are some areas that are still enjoying million dollar home sales. On top of the list is Manhattan Beach which had more home sales beyond the one million mark compared to other communities. The most expensive home sold in Manhattan Beach is worth $6.90 million. Manhattan Beach also topped the number of sales in 2008 with 296 home sales. It is however a reduction from the 2007’s 403 home sales.

The most expensive home was however sold in Hillsborough at $8.26 million. Hillsborough had 274 homes sold in 2008 compared to 384 in 2007. Cupertino’s most expensive home was sold for $5.65 million. The total number of homes sold in the area is only 263 which is a reduction to 2007’s 396 homes sold.

In Saratoga, the most expensive home sold is worth $5.20 million. Total home sales in Saratoga reached 260 which is still down compared to 2007’s 383 homes. Menlo Park’s most expensive home sold in 2008 is worth $5.45 million.
