A century-old church in Riverdale, which is 1,800 square-feet, features a one-bedroom along with a den plan.
According to Edwin Brdlik, owner of Toronto Lofts Realty Corp, authentic lofts are unique but in churches are most exceptional.
Among the 32-unit converted Presbyterian Church is the 1,800-square-foot dwelling. The converted church was constructed at the corner of Pape and Harcourt avenues in 1912 and was later expanded in1920.
As the church fall into disrepair when a project to renovate the property began in 2004, the congregation had diminished. To date, only the north part of the Gothic restoration is the place for worship whereas the rest has been altered into loft condominiums.
Around the Glebe are popular Greek restaurants, specialty grocers and cafes, alongside with boutiques, businesses and the subway.
At the east side of the church along Pape Avenue, buses do stop but is hardly noticeable by residents in this area.
The brick façade and large arched windows - although the interior was divided up, for the most part, into one- and two-storey lofts – was preserved.
