A Swimming pool is one of the most common features in any real estate development whether indoor or outdoor, commercial or residential. There is one swimming pool which can get the attention of any real estate developer and that is the world’s largest swimming pool in Southern Chile’s San Alfonso del Mar resort. The outdoor pool, which is actually a man-made salt water lagoon, is a Guinness Book of Word Record holder for being the world’s largest measuring 1,013 meter and covering eight hectares total. It is being operated by a computer-controlled filtration and suction system that keeps the permanent circulation of fresh seawater in the pool.
The world’s largest pool, which makes use of 250,000 cubic meter of water, is the top attraction in Algarrobo City. Construction of the pool, which took five years, amounted to almost $2 billion and requires $4 million annually for its maintenance. The pool was designed by Crystal Lagoons Corporation which is owned by Fernando Fischmann, a Chilean biochemist. He said his company can construct an artificial paradise without damaging the ocean for as long as they have access to unlimited seawater.
