If you’re tired of renaissance or modern architecture in the United States and in Europe then you can’t help but be amazed at this out-of-this-world and space-like architecture designed for the Dubai Opera House. This is not really surprising considering how unique and amazing Dubai’s architecture is. This is the Middle East’s first ever cultural center and opera house and it will probably be as amazing as the Burj Dubai and its other real estate projects when it is finally realized.

However, you will have to content yourself looking at photos of the 2,500-capacity Zaha Hadid-designed opera house for now until the recession is over because the project has been put…

One of the problems that made the already worsening foreclosure problem is the inability of renters to protect themselves from eviction once the property they are renting is foreclosed. All that is a thing of the past now as President Barack Obama signed a housing law that will allow, albeit temporarily, renters to stay in their landlord’s homes after foreclosure.

The new law will at least provide a temporary home for renters at least through the end of their lease and an additional 90-day period after that before they will be forced to leave the house. If there is no lease then renters will still have 90 days to stay in…

Homes sales got a boost last month thanks to buyers who are taking advantage of low home prices and low mortgage interest rates. Home sales increased by 2.9% during the month of April this year. Real estate transactions in Miami, Phoenix and Las Vegas were even characterized by bidding wars especially when it comes to distressed low-priced properties. However, sales for expensive homes are still down no thanks to the difficulty of getting loans for these types of homes.

The lowest home sales were seen last January but even with the April sales rate it is still down by 35% compared to the home sales data last September 2005. Home sales…

Dubai’s real estate market can be pretty amazing but despite its modern approach on property development it is still wanting in standardized property evaluation system. PRD nationwide Middle East Real Estate Executive Chairman Gary Bugden said there is a need to systematized Dubai’s data collection including the registration of property valuers so they would be properly recognized minimizing if not eliminating the existing practice where just about anyone can evaluate property.

The concern is being addressed by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency which is now working hard to improve Dubai’s data collection system particularly when it comes to the real estate sector. Budgen said Rera should come up with regulations that…
